Granite & Marble For Tubs & Showers
Granite Is Not Just For Countertops
Remodeling a bathroom is not an easy task and sometimes we get in a hurry and the finished product is new but not all it could be.
My wife and I recently upgraded our master bathroom and she took extra care, without a lot more money, to give it a special look. She labored during the planing to get just the right stone tile and countertops to give the bath a complete new look, but what sets it apart are the accents. Those stone accents give the bath a much richer look than just a tiled shower and granite countertop.
She had an idea of the basic tile she wanted for the shower and bathroom floor. Working from there she chose a brown marble called Emparador Dark for the countertop. From that same piece of marble she also cut the shower door sill, the top of the wall that separates the shower from the tub, and the shelves and seat in the shower. Taking that look a little farther, she chose some Emperador Dark Marble Mosaics strips to accent the tile around the tub. Those extra steps gave the bathroom just the right touch to make it stand out from the ordinary stone bath.
Complementing the entire stone work was a dark mahogany custom wood panel under the tub. It was tough pulling all those things together, but in the end, she was very happy with the results.
