Southern Home and Garden Show
By: Charmayne Brown
Green is more than a color. It’s a state of mind and a state of being. And, the 2008 Southern Spring Home & Garden Show is all set to celebrate the many ways of ‘being green.’ The gardens will feature brilliant, easy to maintain plants. The rooms will offer green options galore. Plants will be bountiful. The North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association expands their green pavilion; kitchen and bath appliances will have energy conservation in focus; the horticulture and great garden stages will boast speakers and ideas to make life on your side of the fence a little greener. Get ready, get set, get green – and find out how easy it is at this amazing Salute to Spring.
Nearly 400 vendors are set up at the Carolina First Center for the 47th Annual Southern Home and Garden Show. Despite what's going on with the economy right now, people say, it doesn't matter, they are ready to spend.
Homeowners are browsing for a bargain at the Southern Home and Garden Show. Vice President of HomeBuilders Bruce Paquarella says, "there's a variety of different items here." Extravagant spas, cabinetry, and counter tops are just a few hot ticket items under the Carolina First Center roof. Homeowner Mary Lou Seabrook says, "They have so many things that are conducive to my needs." And despite the appearance of a slumping economy, these homeowners don't mind shelling out the money to upgrade their homes if they run into an exhibit they like.
